Hi everyone!
For this episode, I traveled to Firefly Aerospace near Austin, Texas, to get an up close look at the Blue Ghost Lunar Lander before it launched on its journey to the moon.
Landing on the moon–as opposed to crashing–is not easy. But the folks at Firefly are determined to get good at it anyway, and we got to go behind the scenes as they prepared the Blue Ghost Lunar Lander for liftoff. They’re one of many private companies trying to make landing on the moon a routine event so that we can support the first Artemis base. This is an important part of the new space race, and a new giant leap towards building a permanent human presence in space.
The approach that Firefly takes might surprise you – and the results could too!
